Nestor Imports goes Hollywood!
Nestor
Imports, Americas largest
importer of Greek wine, has contracted Rave Reviews, a Northridge California firm
specializing in television and movie product placement, in order to broaden exposure
for their Greek wines and spirits.
Nestor Imports is the product sponsor for Greek wines and spirits seen on My Big
Fat Greek Life, the highest rated TV sit-com in the history of television. The
series airs on Sunday evenings at 8:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on CBS. A few weeks
ago, Kouros (Kourtaki)
wines were seen throughout an episode featuring match-making attempts for a visiting
cousin from Greece. In the middle of the show, there was a party scene in which many
bottles of Kouros Patras (white) and Kouros Nemea (red) were clearly visible. At
the end of the show, there was a scene in the show’s restaurant, "Dancing Zorba’s."
The owner, and father, Gus (Michael Constantine), poured Kouros Nemea red wine and
held the bottle in his hands for 5 to 10 minutes. Ouzo Plomari will soon be seen
on the show. Amethystos and Chateau Julia (Domaine Konstantine Lazaridi) wines grace the bar behind the restaurant’s
counter, and the Dimitra label can be seen on a sideboard.
Kouros wines have been submitted for use in an upcoming Jack Nicholson film, the
next Wes Craven movie "Cursed," and a soon to be produced Steve Martin
film. A Kouros bottle is expected to appear later in the season in a wedding reception
on "Everyone Loves Raymond," in an episode of "Girlfriends" and
possibly in an upcoming Howie Mandel pilot.
The appearance of the wines have bestowed bragging rights on their Greek producers,
who are, not surprisingly, tickled to see their labels (and Greek wine) receiving
previously unimaginable levels of exposure in America's mainstream. |
