Highest score for Gerovassiliou at Thessaloniki
It is with great pleasure
we announce that our “Domaine Gerovassiliou” Regional White Wine of Epanomi vintage
2002 has been recently awarded with the Great Gold Medal during the 3th International
Wine Competition of Thessaloniki. The above mentioned wine has achieved the highest
score among 560 samples from which the 70% was from 16 countries from abroad.
During the same competition, 4 other wines of the Domaine Gerovassiliou have been
awarded with 4 gold medals and 3 special prices. Among the special prizes, Domaine
Gerovassiliou was awarded for producing the best regional (Vin de Pays) wine in Greece.
Furthermore the “Domaine Gerovassiliou” Chardonnay 2001 and “Domaine Gerovassiliou”
Regional Red Wine of Epanomi 2001 have been awarded with two Gold Medals during the
International Wine Competition “Vinalies Internationales 2003” in Paris, which confirmed
the high quality of these wines and of the Vineyards of South Greece in general.
Last, the “Domaine Gerovassiliou” Regional White Wine of Epanomi Chardonnay 2001
has been awarded with the Gold Medal during the International Wine Competition “Chardonnay
Du Monde” which took place in the city of Chaintre in Bourgundy from 13/03/03 to
16/03/03. It is the first time that a greek wine was awarded with the above price.
In conclusion, last year the Gerovassiliou estate was awarded with 18 medals (8 gold,
10 silver, 2 bronze) during the most important international wine competitions around
the world, which reflects the high quality and the progress of the wines.
