Du
Vin Fine Wines
named Best of the East Bay
greekwinemakers.com member Dan Marshall, owner of Alameda, California's Du
Vin Fine Wines,
has received a well-deserved plug from the San Francisco newspaper East Bay Express.
In choosing Du Vin Fine Wines as the area's best wine shop, the editors noted,
"...what sets Du Vin apart from other Bay Area shops is the geographical
diversity of [Dan's] selections. In addition to the "usual suspects," the
shelves are stocked with vintages from twenty countries, including Lebanon, Austria,
and Switzerland, plus a few from places people don't often associate with vinifera
grapes, such as England and Hungary. Marshall's array of Greek wine is one of the
best on the West Coast, and goes far beyond the pine-flavored retsina that many people
associate with that country."
Dan remains the leading voice in California in support of Greek wine. His membership
in greekwinemakers.com supports Greek wine in other ways. We are very happy for Dan
but not the least surprised.
Dan is the nation's most well-informed retailer of Greek wine and Du Vin Fine Wines
continues to be the Bay area's leading retail source (though it is worth mentioning
that Dan ships both within California and to a number of other states).
We wish Dan continued success and urge our California readers to make good use of
this important resource. |
